I am driven by the commitment that EVERYONE – regardless of background – deserves a quality education. Too many students lack clear direction and fail to complete their degree despite amassing tens of thousands of dollars in debt. Even those who do complete their degree too often fail to find a job in their field.
I have dedicated my career to ensuring an affordable education that serves ALL students and I firmly believe in Lane Community College’s vision of “Transforming lives through education.”
LCC serves the entire community. Our students come from all walks of life and often balance many other responsibilities at work and home. LCC is a great community resource for giving our county’s residents the tools to succeed in their choice of career.
We already face very real challenges, but I am equipped with the experience to tackle these issues head on and I am eager to join the fight for our students, staff, faculty, and community!
- I will fight to ensure that LCC gains the necessary resources to advise and support our students and prepare them for the journey ahead.
- I will work with both K-12 and four-year institutions to ensure that students have articulated pathways to achieve their goals.
- I will collaborate with national, state and local actors on funding and policy initiatives to ensure LCC can meet the important responsibilities we have to students and community.
- I will engage with the community in order to recruit the best faculty and instructors.
“I support Melanie Muenzer whose professional experience makes her extremely valuable to LCC. The moment I met Melanie I understood her passion for and understanding of the value of rural colleges. I know she will keep LCC Florence on the map in Eugene, and I look forward to working with Melanie on our community goals.”
